USBN Vs PISA

 Do you know the difference between USBN and PISA ? USBN is a student competency measurement activity that is carried out by schools for all subjects by referring to graduate competency standarts that aim to gain recognition of learning achievements , except for local content subjects. The term national standart in USBN is intend : USBN questions are arranged based on nationally applicable grids. Grids are developed based on content standarts that are reduced to basic competencies in accordane with the applied curriculum. USBN questions have problems from the center as much as 20-25% , except for subjects that are applied in USBN posts.
USBN is implemented by reffering to the USBN post that is set by BSNP. Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) is a large-scale or international student assessment that sponsored by the Organization for economic and development cooperation (OECD). PISA aims to evaluate the education system of 72 countries around the world. Implementation every 3 years, students aged 15 years from randomly selected schools throughout the world are given a test. This test is diagnostic with one of its benefits is providing useful information for improving the education system. PISA aims to monitor and compare educational system outcomes related to the ability of 15-year-old students in reading literacy , mathematical literacy and scientific literacy. PISA math problem have three components namely content , context and process. Mathematical content in PISA consist of : Change and Relationship Space and Shape Quantity Uncertainly and Data Mathematical context in PISA consist of : Personal Occupation Social or General Scientific Mathematical process in PISA consist of : Able to formulate mathematical problem Able to use concepts , facts , procedures and reasoning in mathematics Interpret , apply and evaluate the results of a mathematical process USBN and PISA have the differences , PISA assesses cognitive abilities including the components of the process and the content tested refers to the application of mathematics in life. PISA presents problem that require resolution not just to remember but to analyze and solve problems. PISA study results indicate Indonesia’s rank is still low than other countries. In addition , the government expects that our students are encouraged and accusromed to think at a higher order level. So that, in the future the new generation will be ready to face the challenges of the 21st century that require critical thingking , creative , communicating and collaborating competiences.
